Summer Edition - 5 Ways to Wear a Fedora Hat

Updated: May 5, 2022

I'm writing this post on a horribly rainy July day...please can the sun come out now?

I hope you've seen my "5 Elegant Ways to wear a Fedora Hat" and that gave me the idea to create and show you a summer version. If you know me, you'd know I love hats and every occasion can have hats involved. Hope you like what I came up with and got some inspiration!

1. Go Monochrome

There's something so elegant and expensive looking about wearing a monochrome outfit. I've been particularly into beige/camel/tan shades worn together. Love, love, love!

This skirt I bought from the H&M sale (roughly £12) I love the fact that it's got pockets and that matching fabric belt makes it look more expensive. It makes me think of Hermès a bit.

Wearing my Hicks & Brown fedora hat in "pebble" colour; paired it with a seamless vest in nude I bought from Reserved. These vests from Reserved are staples and highly recommend getting one in each colour. My Chanel sling-backs totally pulls this outfit together (see my "5 Elegant Ways to Wear a Fedora Hat" post for cheaper alternatives). Styled it with minimal gold jewellery as it compliments my skin tone and with my Giorgio Armani bag (you'll be seeing a lot of this bag)

2. Wide Leg Trousers

Oh my, French Riviera here we come again! This time, I've paired my high waisted wide leg trousers (see my tips for picking a good pair of white trousers on my "5 Elegant Ways to Wear a Fedora Hat" post) with the same seamless nude vest from Reserved, it just makes the outfit look so expensive and effortless. Same Giorgio Armani bag, a white belt with a gold buckle to match the jewellery and my Stuart Weitzman flat sandals in champagne gold leather with gold studs. Just so simple but definitely not boring!

3. Linen maxi/midi dress

Never underestimate the power of a linen dress in the summer! This one is one of my favourite dresses for summer; button down, linen mix, tie waist, side pockets(!) and flattering sleeves. I've got this dress in forest green and ivory, it's from Reserved and purchased both in the sale. I got both last summer and must have paid under £15 for each dress.

This dress with this hat is just everything I want on holiday and a Margarita in my hand! I'm wearing my Stuart Weitzman flat sandals for a more relaxed but still pulled together look. I would also wear it with espadrilles, trainers and sling-backs. Accessorised with this super cute bucket bag I bought from TkMaxx in yellow and ecru check design with seashells. Screams summer, sunshine and no rain!

4. White linen blazer

A white linen blazer is just a staple and should be part of anyone's capsule wardrobe as it's so versatile and can be worn with anything.

To showcase my love for monochrome, I've decided to stick with white high waisted trousers and my white Giorgio Armani belt. A touch of subtle sparkle from my shimmery thin knit silver vest top. And I've got on my Russell & Bromley espadrilles for a bit of height. Love how the vest perfectly matches the ankle ties on my espadrilles.

5. Nautical stripes

Absolute classic, a navy and white stripe top with 3/4 wide leg white jeans from H&M. Paired with my gold Stuart Weitzman sandals. My white leather belt with gold buckle, yellow bucket bag and minimal gold jewellery finished this outfit nicely off.

And here you have 5 ways I've styled this hat in the summer. Wish we had a better summer in London but guess we always have holidays!

My favourite outfit has to be the maxi linen dress but was very close to the wide leg trousers.
